Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are management’s failure

These layoffs are evidence of leadership’s failure to fulfill the Mission, failure to serve customers and patients, failure to uphold their responsibilities to employees, failure to uphold their commitments to shareholders and the Street, failure to address long-standing problems plaguing the business, and failure of the last round of extensive layoffs and reorg to do what is was supposed to.

This is the best possible explanation of the latest layoffs and whose responsibility they were. This is not just true for us, but 99 percent of other companies. I wish more people would realize this and the stigma of layoffs would completely disappear.

No way. “Navigating an economic downturn” and “managing through a reduction in force” are feathers in their caps. They’ll just continue to rise.

We all know this. The questions are, will our leaders be punished for their failures? And how do we make sure we hold our leaders accountable?
