Blame will go to those who receive the highest pay at WD... that are not on ELT or DI. Same as before the hack.
David Goeckler shall be fired, immediately.
Whoever received the highest pay at WD.
“When caught unprepared, C-level executives often have trouble holding on to their positions. Some of the more famous examples include Target’s CEOGregg Steinhafel and CIO Beth Jacob, who were forced to resign by shareholders for not taking adequate steps to protect customers’ data. TheCEO of HB Gary, a high-tech security company, also had to resign after the hacker group, Anonymous, leaked e-mails stolen from the firm. Other examples of financial companies, the top executives of which had to step down in taking responsibility for security breaches,, include KB Financial Group, NongHyup Card, and Lotte Card, where breaches affected about fifteen million people in South Korea.”

It's very likely that employee personal data is in that 10TB of hacked data. Western Digital needs to provide at least a year of company-paid credit-monitoring.

I think you mean fired.
I would not be surprised if there is an insider involved with the hackers. But as it pertains to the ELT - Hanlon’s Razor says “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” The incompetent ELT created the atmosphere for this to happen. Watch them all start unloading their stock now!
Better call Saul
They are already blaming the employees. Being sloppy and falling for phishing.

Not The DG crony execs, but there should be someone’s head to roll.
There is an old saying... "Sh-t rolls down hill."
DG can blame Steve M, the previous WD CEO
