Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Remember: This isn't "you"

It's just what you do
Don't mistake the irony of calling it a "living"

Stay or go next week, you are more valuable than a large publibly traded company. Your life has greater purpose than an 8-5 at Medtronic and getting the stock price up for Geoffrey & friends. This company lost its way years ago, but you don't have to lose yours. Hang in there and don't let this moment define your worth.

I nervously accepted the VERP in March after a long MDT career. I had devoted so much of my life to the company I was unsure how I’d fare without Medtronic in my life. I say with conviction now that life at Medtronic sucks —and I didn’t know how badly it sucked until I was away from that life for a few weeks. Yes, there is life after Medtronic and a much better one at that.

Was Rifd 6 years ago. Thought life was over then. You nailed it on the head, there is life after and it's a good one.

This thread is wholesome. In these tough times, I have realized that "life" will continue whether or not you're at MDT. Also, now would be a good time to practice strength and resilience. Humans have gone through worse times and have survived, so we can go through this too.

Well said. Remember that a corporation won’t stay loyal to you, so you don’t have to be loyal to a corporation.
