April/May 2023 Layoffs?

I heard the Dresden layoff (if you want to call it that) is happening in April but also heard there is another global layoff coming in May where they are targeting getting rid of more fab site folks and accelerating ramping up in low-cost geos like Bulgaria and India. What a great company to work for, NOT!! Hopefully they offer the same package as in Dec, I'm already jumping up and down raising my hand for that package!! I'm tired of all the negative churn by the id--ts leading this company. Get me out of this shithole with a nice going away financial package, I've had enough!!

Well, in Dresden people were asked to leave, yes. I know a few colleagues. Also, even after the hirings are back, the order is to hire in India and Bulgaria. Yippie-Ki-Yay!

Forced leave and shorter work hours on the way.

Anyone know of anyone who was asked to leave in Dresden? Of course, in Dresden they can say "no thanks" and just stay with the workers council protecting them. Rumors are running wild in Singapore that there will be impacts there and rumors flying around in Malta about this 2Q 2023 layoff.

I’m hearing End of Q2, Much like the last layoff was tail end of the quarter. Less headcount this time by about half 100-150 bodies at Malta. No warn notice activation. Non working period payments will not be offered. 4 weeks salary base severance for everyone plus an additional 2 weeks for each year of service over 4 years. 4 months comparable cobra medical payment Announcement will coincide with Q1 Financial Reporting. Good luck people. Not looking great.

Nope. Attrition too high to do a mass layoff. Might be a few managers cut if their scores are not good enough. Looking for manager effectiveness and one other. Look at the weekly from the GM.

I'm hearing similar rumors as well about Dresden site in April and then another fab site one in May or June, hopefully this rumor is not true but if fab loading doesn't improve, we could be in for some very rough times ahead.
