Psychological safety survey

I just got an email this morning for a survey about “psychological safety” in R&D. I cant help but wonder if this has anything to do with the post made a few days ago.

I am surprised at how quickly something like this is addressed.

I have no hope that anything will actually be done about the survey results

Well my experiment had the plug pulled. My post regarding the Cottage Grove Site Director and HR Manager was pulled along with 3 other related posts after one day. Apparently names can only be used at a certain level. This forum has numerous references to people and their specific names at the executive ranks.

Gets old when hr protects people who suck at their job. How about do your job hr? Demote or remove them and put someone who's skilled into the positions. Stop promoting or defending bad employees. Not brain science.

The psychological damage has already been done and is permanent.

Why bother with a survey?

For the past 3 years ( since we bought KCI ) we’ve been getting surveys and nothings been addressed. Just like when we’d put comments in meeting chats that were ignored. And after the meeting your manager would call you to reprimand you for putting a comment in the chat. These surveys are a joke.

Posted a comment about TTS, and it was taken down. Very interesting. TTS has some work to do to be a better place to work.

Another tactic that is used is to provide a plant wide "recognition meal" immediately prior to completing the survey. Applying the science of "recency" is a smart move and is probably worth a few percentage points...except if you are wise enough to see through the fake games.

The last plant survey we took hr and supervisors looked over our backs so we couldn't be honest. There was no comments and the plant manager said we'd have a follow up on the results which didn't happen. 3m surveys are worthless.

It has been noted that a lot of well meaning posts on this site have been picked up on by HR and it is good they are acted upon for the better, this unbiased forum is an excellent way for us at HR to understand better and more quickly what the majority of you are needing and wanting, we can't fix everything but at least this is making it easier,

One survey after another, same feedback is given.....low morale, low motivation, heightened fear of layoffs, diminishing faith in upper management....

The trend is clear....everything is clearly headed downhill...that much is abundantly clear.

What action is actually taken is the main question ❓ what is the point of doing these surveys huh???

What would be much more interesting is the comparison with the one they did maybe 4 or 5(?) years ago on the same topic. Nothing happened out of that one either.

I highly doubt John B. and the CTOC would have the ba--s to actually publish meaningful results. They'll publish some cheesy, zero information infographic per usual to claim transparency.

3M won't get better until executives realize 'the enemy is us' so to speak. A whole generation of executives need to be replaced if 3M is to have any chance of survival.
