Yep, I got the axe too. Was given about 2 hrs notice to join a conference call and be told the news.
Laid off not layed off
Sounds like they are letting go of the older people who have worked there for years. Good luck with the younger generations.
It seemed to be mostly mid to higher level management (Sr. Mgrs, Directors, VPs, even a BU president), remote roles, and veteran employees. 450 isn't massive but when you think about it being heavily focused on management, it's significant. AB earned 1.3 extra billion in rev since 2019
thanks to COVID, so it seems like they are trying to reduce redundancies, redistribute mid-level management and potentially make up for the cost of the opi--d litigation/the M&A from Alliance Health. Bad look, considering the Board could have prevented it.
Layoffs in process today, April 11, 2023. Two directors in my area that I know of so far.
AB has a documented severance policy. What I am seeing in chatter does not match what is documented as policy.
Sounded like it was a lot of remote people manager level and up. A few SVPs and directors were let go. MWI also seemed to be a focus.
It was enterprise wide and yes, most were directors and managers. AB is not immune to the recent corporate business downturn. Compared to layoffs with other Fortune 500 companies, this was mild. Still a major bummer.
Yeah, got burned out on Monday too. Many people I know are in limbo or have been chopped.
I was laid off today in MWI Animal Health
I seriously doubt many were VP's. Keep the high $$ earners and let go of the working class sounds more like it.
Are they planning on laying off even more than 450??
