Never ending layoffs - this is what happens when a company is slowly dying.
The lingo may have changed since my time, but when I was with IBM the company structure was based on division, then departments within a division, then individuals within a department. There may be informal "organizations" that are composed of different departments, but for reporting purposes the formal structure was division and department...

This statement above is inaccurate - everybody in IBM is tied to a department code (org ID in Workday).

And no, they dont have till earnings call to announce all them, the severance number for q2 is already locked in. Q3 is different day.
They really have through the next earnings call to do all the laying off, so that they can announce the charge.
