I know there is an advancement guide for normal people dictating promotion timing. What about supervisors and hipos? Do they have separate advancement guides?

Another thing guided by age. Watch out folks.
@OP general guidance is to promote per the corresponding IC guide or faster dependent on your view of their potential end assignment.
Hipos have a different everything. Normal policies don’t apply to them. They even receive raises every six months instead of annually. The company offers to pay for things for them that are outside of policy when they go on assignments. It is a totally different experience for them.
For the most part supervisors are just normal people with nothing special given.
