The job market has become fiercely competitive in recent years. Production workers now have a plethora of job opportunities available to them, with much better pay rates, conditions, and benefits. Not many people are aware of this, but those who are trying to leave are getting the picture. Laying a bunch of people off just to turn around and not be able to hire anybody to replace them because there are so many better opportunities will not be a good look for the management.

2 direct thing that led to this are Omar's free cash flow bullsh-t (raising money) and stock buy backs (spending that raised money on buying back stock instead of investing in the business)
this not only stifled innovation but artificially inflated the stock price to make it look like the company was ki-ling it. but the whole house of cards fell apart when the incompetence from both Omar's final year (remember the value based healthcare scam?) and Geoff's lack of vision (let's reorg every 6 months and overindex on DEI).
omar and geoff destroyed this business. both were from GE. geoff was omar's protege. QED.
Most issues as recalls, PHO's ,backorders etc. are from $ saving goals on performance goals and the company's unwillingness to invest in infrastructure is US
