Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

For the id--ts complaining about WFH

If productivity was so down and performance nose dived due to WFH workers....why were they kept this long?

Why are there so many WFH worked around still? The company could have easily fired them and get new people instead of letting things get this bad and doing layoffs, no?

The reality that you fools don't realize is that the LT knows it's their bs that has led to this. It's not the individual contributors and the middle managers who are trying their hardest to get the job done. It's their failed bets on stupid sh-t like DEI, d-mb acquisitions, recalls, warning letters, quality issues, component backorders, stock buybacks, complete and utter lack of innovation, incompetence at the ExCom level (Que, Torod, Austin, Sally, etc)...

These above are the reasons this company is failing. Not because of some WFH people.

Again I ask...why are they still around if their productivity was so poor? Uh....maybe cause it wasn't poor at all.

Now come at me with your WFH complaints boomers

I am trying to understand the “I think it’s a power thing mostly by managers in their 40’s.” Could anyone tell me more about that? Seems a comment from left field, unless I missed something previously.

WFH is not the problem. We have done it pretty well, as are many other companies.

I agree with everything OP stated except I don't think it's a boomer thing (I'm not one). Most boomers I know have been WFH. I think it's power thing mostly by mangers in their 40's.
