Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Managers who lay off staff then cry wolf

It's ironic when you have a manager who was notorious for bullying staff out the door to then get fired. What's even more outrageous is when that manager then tries to claim for unfair dismissal even though they were one of the worst performing employees during their time at the firm.

@az Congratulations on the new job!

Have there been new layoffs or was the manager the OP mentioned from a past layoff?

People like that are simply emotionally and professionally immature. Even before considering their ability as a manager, I don't think they belong in an intellectually demanding workplace like asset management. There are honestly far too many people like that. Some people seem to think it's perfectly normal to slack off and do the bare minimum.

For some reason, my boss doesn't seem to be getting fired, so I started looking for opportunities elsewhere. As a result, I've now decided to move to a competitor for significantly higher compensation than I'm getting now.

I actually like this company because there are a lot of genuinely good people here. But in the end, the team members around me and, especially, my direct manager were just too difficult to deal with.
