Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

My manager tells me that my job is safe

Unfortunately, I know I can't believe that. Just how many people were also told they were safe and then got cut right after?

My manager had his favourites, he knows much more than he tells, he RIF me and another guy based on garbage fed to him by a guy who never met either of us, but he was the bosses buddy and hired him. 65 years of knowledge was lost because of the boss feeding into what was said. Now this same boss left the team to take a global job. He also visited Serbia and married a Serbian and imported her to our country, can’t make this stuff up, super greasy

You manager may not know. Also they may have a target on their back. Think about it for a minute, would you go all out to do your job if you knew you only had 2 weeks?

Some ask their employees to help them create their employees work … on a silver platter during silver service you can get my tasks. Management has no clue.

Don’t trust what your TM is saying as they don’t know 100% for sure. Hate to say it but I don’t believe mine. I feel I’m being played and have been looking elsewhere in case this goes south.

Don't believe him. If you were NEXT on the list he wouldn't tell you for security reasons. Also, keep in mind first level managers at NCR are stupidvisors, not 100% trusted or involved in these types of decisions.
