Thread regarding 3M layoffs

3M Moving Away From Fleet Vehicles

Looks like in another cost cutting move, 3M has made a global decision to take away fleet vehicles from individuals who do not meet a certain mileage criteria.

What’s next, more layoffs in April?

Anyone who thinks moving to an allowance wint be a cash grab is a literal dummy. Do u realize how big of a bensfit it used to be tonlay $50.month for a car that got replaced frequently, repaired free, had unlimited gas, mileage and insurance??

Car allowance will be the new norm, so don't fret. It might be reduced slightly for lesser Km but at least you will be getting something.

They are generally moving away from fleet vehicles in favor of allowances. So you're probably good.

Has this been officially announced? I haven't seen anything on this. I receive a car allowance instead of an actual car… is this likely to be impacted under the same changes?

I seen them also, retired in 2021. Just like our U.S. transportation secretary, too important to fly commercial.

Part of my duties at 3M Center took me to where 3M stores and maintains their jets.
I seen family members get on and off these jets for a vacation. I seen them come back with cases of wine, large stuffed animals from Disney Land and so on. I wonder if their travel is still going on.

PSD VP likes to shoot w/o any strategy and clear understanding of his decisions. No accountability for his past decisions. Another good politician with a lot of blablabla….

So true, work your way is not the issue. The issue is people are distracted by constant change and cuts, being forced to sit on their hands because they can't get approval to do a project, and worried they are going to lose their jobs.

Cutting Work Your Way won't solve the problem. This never ending restructuring is affecting job performance in so many ways... if we do not have a clear objective of what we have to do, how it is expected we will accomplish our daily tasks? If we are not assigned an objective - or project - how it is expected that we do our jobs? If we propose a project or idea, sit and wait for the approval (I guess it has to go so high that it never reaches the top).

Today I received a reminder to have the 1:1 with my manager and enter my goals on Workday. No intentions to book that appointment on the following days. My department moved to a new "area" structure and manager on February 1st. And for February 24th we were told there would be a NEW structure (and introduced to our new managers) sometime this month of March. Insane!

And, by the way, if Work Your Way is shut off, many colleagues will remain full remote because... guess what... many local offices were closed to reduce costs!

More layoffs, yes, you can guarantee it. Roman is hanging on by a thread. Psd vp wants to cut work your way. Now they want all us reps to ride our bikes to customers

What are fleet cars? Are they the cars we had on campus by 216? Or for certain functions historically that included a vehicle?
