Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Welcome to the Corporate World!

GM employees are 'strongly encouraged' to consider its voluntary separation program.

Or else you will be separated.

2019 reoccurring again.

When will we get out of this Hire to Fire strategy. There are better strategies in the book.

Take the money and run. I worked for 20+ years and was severed after others wouldn’t take the voluntary layoff in 2019. I thought my career was over because it was the only thing I knew the manufacturing arena. Got severance, 4 months later in a new job making a ton more than what I made at GM, a lot less stress, working from home permanently. Do I miss GM, in a way yes, I missed the people too, but trust me a burden will be lifted. Best of luck to all.
