Was the Santa Rosa location one of the original stores??

Was the Santa Rosa location one of the original stores?? On their website, the store number for that location is 24. That would have been one of the first in California and maybe the first in Northern California. Santa Rosa was the first location for Best Buy in Northern California also. Is Santa Rosa one of the first test markets for large retailers when they come to Northern California??

Yes, 24 was an early store. Not sure the original year, but it to was a small 8000 square foot f. It then moved to its current location in 1999 (one shopping center South to a bigger 40,000 sq.ft spot). Supposedly one of the 2 founders loved Sonoma county and wanted a store there.

Not sure of the exact timing, but in Southern California store #8 in Canoga Park was the first in CA then #20 West LA, #23 Huntington beach (which was about the size of two 7-11’s ) until it moved to the new location that closed recently. Studio City is #25 and I can’t remember the store number for Northridge but it was one of the early ones too.
