No go on the severance but if any state government decided to pick up the tab for severance pay it would be California. I doubt a couple of million dollars more will impact California's current debt which is over $1.5 trillion. More than the highest debt holder of U.S. treasury securities, Japan at $1.08 trillion. Surfs up daddio.

I believe the no severence and no PTO, but the bit about no COBRA is false - the government administers that. BB&B (praise be to Allah) has nothing to do with running COBRA. That being said, you'd probably better off going to healthcare.goc, than dealing with COBRA.

There is no legal requirement under California law that employers provide severance pay to an employee upon termination of employment.
In California we are getting 2 weeks pay severance for each year of service, closing bonus and Cobra paid for three months!
