so the location no longer uses its upper floor anymore everything is now located on the first floor packed together. did they sell out the upper portion or what.

Nope. The store isn’t leased. Belk owns the parcel. If it closes, it’ll be by decision of Belk when they choose.
oh what a shame for the employees they were so friendly
The location will be closing. Arbor Place Mall said the lease for Belk is up 9/1/23.
