Walk out

How long before everyone organizes and does a full walk out? This is the stuff unions are made of

If you stage a walkout, and no customers are around to observe it, do you really make a statement?

Don’t scr*w yourself in the process; get a new job lined up first and then walk out w/o any notice.

A walk out would just help them..less employees to pay..less trying to decide what positions to eliminate next or stores to close if people just do it themselves. Wouldn't faze them at this point

That would be a great idea.
Get your head out of the sand. If you just walk out and quit, there goes any chance of unemployment.
It’s a sinking ship. Do yourself a favor and seek other employment, unless you like misery.

That's adorable that you think corporate "could care less" about employees, as, at this point, I really believe that they couldn't care less about employees.

“If the required notice is not provided, or not properly provided, an employer can be liable for up to 60 days of pay and benefits, plus civil penalties and attorneys’ fees.”
They have done all that. The mass layoff that is slated to happen is wave 3 and 4 permanently closing along with Harmon that just happened.
Just a reminder, it’s a new company with a new hedge fund owner but with the same bs expectations.

ultimately, a walkout really wouldn't affect corporate all that much, they're already covered and have proven they could care less about employees

however, it WOULD potentially bring some attention to just how sh---y the remaining employees are being treated, because BBB is just feeding the media the typical "oh it's just underperforming stores and we're gonna turn this around and blah blah blah", which is NOT the case at all

since traffic is pretty much nonexistent, a walkout really wouldn't have much effect.

huh? You get 60 days notice under the WARN act, hence the point of the whole thing. So if they lay you off, they need to give you 60 days salary or 60 days of notice that the layoff is coming. If they do not tell you, then you are entitled under the act to receive compensation of what would have been at least 60 days.

Why would you contemplate doing a walk out instead of just finding another job? What message will that send? Do you think that would change things? They have no money and will be bankrupt soon, what can possibly be different now? The writing has been on the wall for well over a year this company was done.

“Unions aren’t going to touch a company headed to bankruptcy. You just won d-mbest internet comment of the day.”
Not to mention that it works in their favor getting rid of toxic employees and replacing them with temp or new employees. Just give your notice and find something stable. Not worth staying if you want something stable.

You don’t get 60 days salary. That only happens if they don’t file a WARN notice and try to let you go. Countdown if the 60 days starts at the warn notice date.

I mean at this point, I would just wait for the mass layoffs happening in 2 months. They are filed under WARN, so you should (under WARN act) get 60 days salary. I am sorry

Honestly we really all should. Just not show up one day. They’ve made it clear they don’t value us.
