Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Broadcom earnings report

From what I can see, the company is about to post good results and beat estimates. Alternately, VMware has a consensus EPS Estimate of $1.96, which is -3.0% year over year.

I'll be honest, once we're officially acquired, it'll be nice to once again see good numbers on investor call day instead of having to worry how many more layoffs will bad results cause at VMware.

Paul M was the last exciting CEO we've had

Yeah, where would we be without Zimbra, Sliderocket and Socialcast.

The sarcastic comments about Pat G are well founded. All that guy really new how to do was overpay for botched acquisitions and blow money and critical energy on DEI virtue signaling. The collective brown nosing and CEO survey pushed during his tenure were simply ridiculous and certainly not authentic. His successors sucked as well, but Paul M was the last exciting CEO we've had.

Broadcom reported that their Infrastructure Software revenue fell 1%. The degradation of this business is why Hock is trying to buy VMWare - they need another set of products to ravage.

Little secret for u. Pat left us in 2021.
Please don’t post when it is obvious u don’t work here.

The scarcasm is mocking "Pat DID a bang up job", not that he is "doing an ongoing bang up job".

He set all the deck chairs for this to happen, starting with moving everything to cheaper geographies and allowing the jingoistic hiring practices that caused vmware to be less diverse than it ever has been. All the practices that he set in motion were designed to goose the bottom line, but not improve quality or internal governance in any way. Had he been concerned with anything beyond is own bank account, he would have understood that high quality, efficient processes cost money, ethics and constant monitoring to ensure continual improvment.

Why are we creating a thread just to guess at things when the actual answer is coming in a few hours and another thread will be created to discuss it?
