Return to work. Termination of Separation agreement

Has anyone else received an email/call with inquiry regarding interest in termination of separation agreement and reinstatement to working status? I received both yesterday from GF. I am unsure how to proceed as I have no desire and will not be returning to GF but I also don’t want to respond or acknowledge it and jeopardize severance payments due in in a few weeks. I looked through my agreement and it doesn’t say that I am obligated to return to work if position is available. Thinking I should contact a lawyer?

GF has such a bad reputation in the industry when they realize their outsourcing strategy to India and Bulgaria is broken people won't come and join the fab sites in US/DRS/SGP. The only people they will find at the fab sites are new hires who need a job but no experienced people will join because they know the reputation of GF.

No signatures are needed not a click. NY state government would destroy Globalfoundries if it was open an email and you forfeit your severance

its possible they aren't asking them to return and just want to get out of paying severenence and hopes they don't realize what they click....if they were to invite them back they should really call

GF can SMD. I will never waste another minute of my life with them. For the rest of my life, I will tell anyone willing to listen NOT to waste their time working for them.

Yes everyone please remember it’s a contract with them that we signed. They signed it too and can not break it without consequences. You are on equal footing with them on this. And as @1txg+1lppBYJb is right. You can negotiate. Give up nothing

Tell them to get their checkbook out again!! Tell them you keep everything through layoff, 6 months pay, cobra pay, AIP, etc .... Then go negotiate a sign-on bonus to start back up with GF and a retention bonus if you stay 1 year, 2 years, etc .... Put the screws to them and make it worth your time for your "emotional" pain and suffering :-).

@omb+1lppBYJb That’s just it, they haven’t offered me anything. Think they are gauging my interest in returning or to simply see if I am currently employed. It doesn’t really matter as I am not returning. The email and call are legit GlobalFoundries. Just not sure what their angle is. I might actually respond to it in couple of weeks, after severance payment is made, just to see. Lol

It’s very strange to get that without a discussion. I didn’t receive it

Don’t reply. It was only an inquiry and can’t be held against you if you just move on without acknowledging it.
