Being let go from GM can only secure you a better future, not worse.

We all know that GM likes to toy with people by making a feel-good proclamation, then putting out surveys, then moving 180 degrees away from what people actually want. Then they use insulting language like, "performance calibration." They lie very consistently, have no loyalty and are fully disconnected from the inner workings of the boots on the ground. Everything is about sales, media reception, customer satisfaction, and the stock price; just like every other corporation globally. They are not your babysitter or your shrink. They are not going to setup a sushi bar for you and serve you Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers!!! (Many of Reddit complained about free coffee! WTF?)
So, why on earth would people chest-thump about RTO, knowing that there are corporate sharks in mgt that will lie and throw regular people under the bus? They actually went on GM's Yammer and complained and finger-wagged at mgt!?!?! What were they thinking? Didn't they know these managers are empty, only care their perception and obsess over the comments? Did they not expect mgt to see that and then quietly monitor their performance? To put them on a short list?
This is a lesson for everyone. If you aren't giving your best, if you complain, if you are a PITA, if you go against the grain in a recession, you absolutely will be singled out for not being a team player and you'll find yourself desperately searching for work in a job market with mass layoffs. You will end up living in mom's basement while working at Wendys. The fantasy world you expected where there are endless tech jobs that will let you eat from the breakfast bar, talk about your feelings, play ping pong and dial it in isn't real.
Many of us older colleagues have seen this movie before. To those of you still left, you know what to do and what not to do. The bumpy ride is far from over! The last recession took YEARS to hit bottom! Now get busy down-voting this post because it's medicine you need but medicine you hate. Now get busy trying to find that "better future" mentioned above. LMAO
True.
