Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Not surprised

I know some have stuck around working at store level hoping to get a severance package but now that’s only a dream. What are you waiting for?!? Get out of that awful company ASAP. You are wasting your time and energy working for a company that doesn’t care about you and your well being!

Agree with 2wob that there is literally nothing to do all shift as no trucks for nearly 2 months now (some new hires have never worked any freight ever). Few customers bother to come in also so cush nothing to do job for now.

It’s nice to make fun of people that want to better themselves and try and get out of retail, isn’t it (said sarcastically & rhetorically)? If you do file unemployment you have the option to have taxes deducted as you’re paid so you won’t have to pay taxes at the end of the year when you file your taxes. I’m also glad some people have the option to walk right into an entry level job getting paid more than what Bbb was paying you and a full time position with health benefits as it’s difficult to find in my state. What’s right for one person isn’t right for another. Best of luck to all associates at store level regardless of your decision to stay or leave.

There are many entry level jobs that pay more than bbb. As a supervisor I can still walk into a higher paying job at an entry level. Only someone with a big savings account or someone to depend on can sit back and collect unemployment. I'll be out of here before they even tell us our store is closing. Bbb looks out for themselves, you best do the same.

If unemployment can get you bye in today's world your expenses must be minimal. Then all that money you collect will have to be given back next tax season.

After closed and laid off, we can collect unemployment until we get ourselves re-trained and OUT of retail.
