We need a straight up truth article about how the executive leadership team at UP commuted treason and betrayed their country.
The government needs to implement improved safety standards, including having enough qualified employees to inspect and repair cars, tracks, signals, and locomotives. Many people make government oversight and regulations a political issue, but oversight and regulations are needed to protect the public as well as railroad workers. Hopefully the politicians will have the backbone to ignore the highly compensated lobbyists in Washington that work on behalf of all the railroads to cut employees and safety regulations. Every railroad employee should call or email their representatives and let them know the current terrible safety and operating conditions we work under. The derailment in Ohio was bad, but could have been much worse. It’s only a matter of time before a catastrophic accident happen, such as the one in Canada a few years ago where 47 people lost their lives.
Operating ratio is over 60% and that's without fixing / replacing all the worn out equip that's been in service since before PSR. Over 60% w/o enough employees in mechanical and engineering depts to fix / replace all that worn out old equip. We haven't seen the long term cost of PSR yet.
And our Operating Ratio is back up to over 60%. So much for that. Vena owes us a refund of his 10 million dollar bonus.
