Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

I don't get some people

I read an article yesterday about individual investors who still believe BBB will recover. Not only are they not selling their shares, but they are also buying more. Are these people blind? Do they know how to read? Are they inherently stupid? What else could make a person think that there is any way in which this company will recover?

Before you buy retail stocks go to a big city store on Saturday noonish. How many cars in the lot? What are people buying? Big ticket or minor items? How much stock is on the shelf and how fast is it turning over? BBB has been a sound failure on each of these for more than a year. Cut your losses and move on.

it's hard to be productive when you have no inventory, and even when there is some to come in, you don't have a trucking company to get it to you, or employees to sell it

Anyone who made these productive stores is in the past already, and that includes most folks trained after MT took over. The good mgrs have LEFT, the good employees have LEFT.

Wrong. BBBY will keep all the productive stores. Productive means profitable. It is the future.

More BS from the meme crowd in terms of the "non productive stores". Gotta love the gullibility of that phrase. The one I worked in was the largest in the midwest and you can bet it is no longer productive as the place is empty. Yet they are keeping it open for now. Keep telling yourselves about only the non productive stores being canned. Remind me of that when you are filing for unemployment. They are now down to ONE full timer, and honestly, quite possibly even he is not full time anymore. They had 19 at one time. Two stores of roughly comparable size in the district are gone already.

Stop the gaslighting on the "production". It's old lies.

Just went past my old store. Only one full timer left. Nobody in the store besides 4 employees. Was good to see some friends but the place is toast. There is SO much going wrong that is FAR beyond your ability as workers to affect.

The company is strong, just need to reorganize some of these non productive stores. BBBY will carry on long after we’re all gone from this earth. Play the long game!

just go on Reddit, and search for BBBy….they have a daily thread to hype each other up about how they’re all gonna become millionaires and and brag about their thousands of shares they’re buying. everytime the price drops, they see it as a sign to buy more because it HAS to skyrocket. because BBB got a small loan to pay off some of their debt, ‘bankruptcy is off the table’, which is laughable. this isn’t crypto, where the prices just kinda do whatever they want….if half of the people on there have half as much invested as they say they do, there’s gonna be a lot of angry parents at their freeloading kids who just blew a LOT of their money

They are people who reckon YOU must know SOMETHING they do not and YOU will profit from that knowledge. Their convos on yahoo are hilarious. Reduced to 5th grade insults. TO THE MOON! Etc. They think they have a monopoly on knowledge and they get reinforced on reddit. They are fools and have no idea how a business works. It is just a cheap stock to them. A lottery ticket. But that does not keep them from saying they bought thousands of shares. Way to burn through the trust fund for many of them. Or get out of mom's basement.

It's a Ponzi scheme.
