Ynon, how often does history need to repeat itself before a much needed change is initiated at Mattel? The answer is simple, creativity and ideas flourish in an environment free of dictatorial layers and meetings of hierarchy that stifle and stagnate vs enrich creative development. Yes, initial conceptual freedom is given to encourage creative thinking to spark new ideas, but then the process of hierarchy takes over, invariably and unfortunately belaboring the chance of any idea successfully coming to fruition. MUnfortunately, it occurs throughout every division within the organization throughout the entire development process.
A change is needed… the companies survival depends on it.

The script for the current leadership team is predictable. They will get to rub elbows with movie stars in up coming movie events, not be able to run a toy company and flee with millions in cash. Don’t know the time table, but this is reasonable foreshadowing based on the history of this company. Remember, upcoming movie is a Warner Bros product, and how much money and when will the licensing of our IP contribute to Mattel bottom line. Legitimate shareholder question! Most of us will exit Mattel on bad terms, but not with millions written in from contractual terms. The list is long just think back over recent years.
