Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

The problem with HyVee.

The problem with HyVee is the corporate Vice Presidents and above is feel like HyVee is too big to fail. They act like they don’t have to answer to anyone. They act like they are invincible and nothing can hurt them. The truth is that kind of mind set has put HyVee on the ropes. Another thing is they come up with new terrible ideas and blame the store when those ideas fail. They blame store directors and say stuff like you didn’t try hard enough or you didn’t execute it right. I would like to see a video from Jeremy about how he is going to fix HyVee and right the ship and how he will take full responsibility for the future of HyVee unlike randy. We all know Randy’s time as ceo of HyVee was a big failure and Jeremy Gosch needs to acknowledge that Randy failed HyVee and how he will not be randy and blame everyone else for his failures.

HyVee needs to give directors another pay cut. They haven’t been able to produce for the company like they should. No way should a director get paid over 125k per year. If they cant get their store out of the red then give them a huge pay cut. They are just taking a pay check without performing for the company. Time to end this high pay for directors who are Driving this company into the ground.

Dump the district store directors. They are a waste of time and money.

It's funny at a time when Hy-Vee is trying to cut expenses they've given buyers the green light to cram product down the throats of stores. Stores can't buy their way out of it, how about letting stores stay lean and mean, keep inventory at a minimum and turns to the max, let stores bring in what they need to sell quantity at a good profit. Forcing unneeded cr-p down the throats of stores that either don't need, don't want or can't sell us completely insane and is what directly contributes to the decreased profitability of stores.

I just don’t think Randy understands what made Hy-Vee what it was. He is obsessed with status symbols. I don’t think he is purposefully tanking the company. Unless it turns around while he is still involved he will always be known as the one who either sunk the company, or left a mess for someone else to clean up. His ego is too big for that.
The reality is that he is misguided on what the company needs to do. He got his first Store Director job and his one competitor closed shortly after. He is delusional enough to think he closed them down that quickly by his own skill. The store obviously improved dramatically and it fed his ego even more.
Dude is a total ego manic. I remember him point blank saying in a director meeting once that no one else in the room could do his job. He thinks he is a visionary. 😂

As a current employee I can state there are 4 reasons why Hy-Vee is cutting hours like crazy. 1. Inflation 2. Stimulus money. 3. Unemployment benefits. 4. Food stamps benefits enhanced during covid. All those 4 reasons I just stated are why sales are down at stores. Everyone had extra money the last couple of years whereas they don't now so people are panicking. Unfortunately the leadership team is either too naive or just doesn't give a damn themselves about the employees to realize those things. Labor is always going to be the easy go to answer.

I heard that the only reason Randy is leaving is because he knows HyVee will fail and doesn’t want to be the captain of the ship and go down with it. He is already saving himself. Once randy sells off his stock he won’t give a sh-t what happens to HyVee. 2024 will be the year they file for bankruptcy. .

Don't be fooled by titles. They are meaningless at Hy-Vee. Randy remains in charge, and Jeremy won't do anything unless Randy approves it. The corporate exercise program at Hy-Vee consists of keeping your head down, covering your backside, and when Randy says "Jump" asking "How high?"
