Either take the sell out money with a cola raise or Schenectady will be hit with layoffs!

It’s all smoke and mirrors, they are testing each facility to see who can produce efficiently. Trust me when I say that Schenectady is so vary far from efficient. The split pay scale and lowering of the standards for an easy unskilled position ruined it. The pension is no more just like all the talented skilled blue collar workers. Soon the unskilled T’s will be left out to dry.
: @2whq+1ljPCzFL To answer some if your questions,
Bars are made elsewhere as well as Schenectady. The amount of bar orders for around the world, plus in house builds in Schenectady are actually more than the factory can out out.
Steam turbine work has already gone elsewhere, because a bunch of sc-m employees did so much shady, poor quality work, the customers dont want Schenectady building their rotors. Same goes for services, Schenectady ruined that gig with oiss poor workmanship under the 1 for 1 inspections that missed too many vital checks.
Turbines and complete units that have been sitting outside for years, are part of power generation projects that have been cancelled. The Long Fu project in Vietnam was shelved after the Obama admin sanctioned the money man in russia, after the project builds where well under way. That big project played a large part in GE now getting paid up front for orders now, unlike the poor practices of the past. Generator orders in the last 2 yrs have been sh-t. There is one being finished now in GFA, soon to ship. There is 2 being wound in the stand and 4 in the stack pit as well as 2 more in clean and one sitting on the floor in waiting.
So yea, its been real real slow, but there is a sh-t ton of work in the view. They are still hiring off the street and upgrading to field wind, the wind stand and generator services.
There is almost a dozen liquid cool bar orders on the books for this year, on top of the 10 conventional orders that never got shipped last year, add to more than that for 2023.
So wake up, give up on the BS. The contract may come out as sh-t as we all expect, and the majority will end up voting yes as always, but there is NO Layoff coming in the next cple years at least. Take that to the bank.
Bars are made in other facility’s, aLL over the world in India, Poland, Europe, China Taiwan. The only reason Schenectady has all this work is because of the Spin off. Once the deal is 100% complete then the major change will be upon us.
Is Schenectady the only GE location in the world that makes generator bars? Could GE build a more modern and efficient bar shop some place else in the world? What percentage of the Schenectady work is generator bars? Doesn't Schenectady also do steam turbine work? Can't the steam turbine work be moved elsewhere? Why are there steam turbines sitting for months outside on rail cars? I haven't seen a generator on a rail car, ready for shipping, for months. Answer these questions and you'll get your answer about Schenectady layoffs and the future of the Schenectady manufacturing plant.
It can't be made nowhere but here... we're the only ones who can do it... blah blah blah Losers think and talk like that! Winners will wink at you and say, Here! Hold my beer! There is nothing but opportunity waiting to be taken advantage of by somebody with the ba--s to do it. You better hope the people with the power to implement change don't have the ba--s. If they do, they will think of something you never thought was a possibility and you'll come to the realization that someplace you never knew of is now doing something you never thought anybody else could.
Poland cant make bars, bar shop has more orders for the next 3-4 years than it can make 7 days a week all year long, there WILL NOT BE A LAYOFF, regardless of how good or sh---y the contract comes to us to vote on. Keep trying to stir the pot, your only stirring yourself.
