The batteries in the Lightning alone weigh more than a Honda Civic.
The fact that all sorts of tech has to be added to a vehicle to counteract an inherently unsafe design - aka not being able to see what’s directly ahead of you, beside you, behind you so you don’t run over a child / pedestrian / jogger / bicyclist Is just plain NUTS. Change the design.
The braking is NUTS as well, definitely takes way too long to stop with all the added battery weight.
This is what happens when you bait and switch people. "It will cost X. No it will cost Y. No it will cost Z!"
Ford cannot make money on EVs. Bill desperately wants to be an EV company. Something has to give. At this rate he will bankrupt the company chasing unicorns. Reminds me of 2015 when they started panicking over Uber and no one buying cars anymore. Bill's bright idea? Shuttles and ride -sharing. All now shutdown after losing billions.
If the OP removes some of his targeted search criteria there are 1500 plus new Lightnings available. Sad that Ford reports that 15, 617 have been sold and 10% are sitting on the dealer lots getting rained and snowed on as the market pans them.

This might be part of the problem for Lightning:
$119,206 MSRP: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/2065c83e-633f-4fd7-92af-521e230c5489/
$110,204 MSRP: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/f00d4ebe-d4f1-4d6e-82ef-53591d8446dd/
And of course $110,749 for a $80,749 MSRP: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/5eee2edc-8866-4d89-b979-1203d0a2f402/
Guessing that these will sit for a while.
To be fair there is this on the low end $45,944 MSRP: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d377afdf-df55-46b3-b767-06b59822b4a9/
Keep in mind these are all in stock as customers decided against taking delivery.

There are 1289 new Ford Lightnings for sale on Cars.com.
Kind of confirms Ben’s story on Ford’s “sold out” platform ( currently on build/ship hold).
Smoke and mirrors for Ford EV’s
You mean no one wants a truck that costs $80k+ without being able to tow/haul without severely affecting the vehicle's range? And that can erupt in flames at any second or brick just by plugging it into a charging station?
Who would have thought that?!?
If you haven't watched this video, note the 3 minute mark. Reservees and ordees are backing out. Plenty on dealer lots waiting to be had. These still count as "sold" by Ford even though they aren't purchased by consumers.
FF!
