Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

Layoffs have started

Israel is the first victim but it won't be long before we start getting announcements as well. I'll be honest with you, I'm glad this is about to happen. I've been stressing about layoffs since the company first announced it planned to cut up to 6,000 employees. I'll be happy to move on from that, whatever happens.

So what? The big planned HP layoff been known since November. But why on earth you just sitting around waiting to get WFR'd? Start looking for another job immediately, because there is tremendous competition for open IT jobs right now, and you'll need the extra runway to find something before your severance runs out.

A friend of mine got whacked by HP in November, and he's still trying to get a job after over 3 months of looking. This is not a good time at all to be out of a job!

If you mean Indigo Press then that is bad news. The print business is shrinking at the rate of about 7% a year.
