Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Why lie?

Georgia, why lie? You said that you monitor the discount transactions and can point out fraud when it happens? Why punish the honest, hardworking employees? I have zero respect for this company. Jeremy didn't even have the b@ll$ to show up on video for the last month. I'm here for a paycheck (while that lasts). No more of my money will go to Hy-Vee.

20% every day? If so, good for you -- that's a substantial discount for a grocery store. Maybe they got that "fraud/abuse" thing all figured out in the last few days?

Store director told his employees the new discount is 20%. That’s awesome. Can’t wait until I get to use the new and improved discount.

Hy-Vee was hammered (again) for a poorly thought-out and poorly excuted move, and has had to reverse course (again) to quiet the uproar. A PR nightmare entirely of their own making (again) underscores the pitfalls of Ready-Fire-Aim management. Good news is, employees are getting the discount back. Keep up the noise on social media and keep sharing those ridiculous company communications with the news media -- that is what made the difference here. Management doesn't care an ounce about employees' welfare, but they really, really care about looking bad at the black-tie events they go to and embarrassing their celebrity spokespeople.

Yaassssss. The discount is coming back. I know my family saves a lot with it. The 10 percent neutralizes inflation. So when inflation goes down, it's like getting a mini pay raise to pay for groceries. Of course, some people on here will find anything to gripe about.

How would you like to be Georgia, The face of the bad news? Then CEO and Tina come out a few days later and correct the message. Sorry chief of staff and chief customer officer, we didn’t consider your opinion or reputation.

They need to be honest. I'm guessing enough directors blamed employee discounts for their low grosses. Now they're going to run it for two months without to see if grosses improve. Unfortunately they're doing this with other cuts so the grosses will improve and they won't even know the exact reason why...so they'll be permanently cut cuz "it worked"...or even worse, grosses still suck, and it stays cut cuz they can't afford it. Either way, there's slim to no chance an employee discount comes back...even though we were making good money with it in place for several months prior to the post Covid bo-b.
