Employee Discount Hack

Former executive staff member here, wanted to let you all know that Walmart gives out an “employee discount” to Hy-Vee employees to the tune of 20-30% and you don’t even have to do anything 😂

Just go to show just how many Dipshits have no idea what the OP was talking about if your comment went to stealing. 1st At that rate of theft NO retailer would be around since they would be out of business and 2 they are correct Walmart is automatically cheaper by 10%-20% everyday. When worked in Topeka that was exactly my complaint to Jessie Thorson and a few of the other store directors that threatened us with our jobs for not shopping HyVee. I said show me where in the handbook where you can tell me where the Fck I have to shop its my money i shop where i want and gave them my receipt with our prices which showed ours higher by 18%.

To the dopes who think it's OK to steal because your employer "won't miss it."
I hope you losers are prosecuted.

Too true. Just shop at Wal-Mart and there you go, saved 30%

I wasn’t bragging about anything, but explaining how removing the employee discount is another short sighted move by Hy-Vee. In a long list of many. Which is why I left the company and am much happier now.

D-mbest move in a long series of d-mb moves by the company that wants to be "the best place to work." Employees are furious. Many have already quit on the job. Every other company can figure out how to give employee discounts without rampant fraud and abuse. Why can't Hy-Vee?

A lot of employees who shopped at Hy-Vee primarily are going to be curious and go look at Walmart prices and realize the 10% employee discount was still more expensive than the competitors.
I think Hy-Vee is going to lose a lot more sales than they realize by losing the employees business.
When I was a director I started a 5% discount for employees in the store to get them to shop there.
The gross was still healthy and it actually helped the stores profitability.

You're right. Many don't give 10%, many give 20% every day.

Nearly every retail business out there gives their employees a 10% discount. Hy-vee is really cutting their own throat with this latest move.
