Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Quiet quiting

Now that we have seen many companies announcing large layoffs, and even State Farm getting rid of about 1,000 in what is likely State Farm's version of a layoff,. I've not heard people talking about how they coming along with their plans of quiet quiting.

Can some of you quiet quilters give us an update on how it is going?

Quiet quilting? What is it? I’ll be darned if I know! I like to make noise when I am quilting! I will not quilt quietly!

While I also believe cash is king when it comes to compensation -- there are loads of full-time jobs that don't offer PTO, Medical, or any sort of retirement.

For someone coming into SF from that part of the workforce (which is common with entry level claims), that part of our compensation is meaningful.

The pay is still pretty sh---y though since it's often below the competition who offers the same sorts of benefits as well.

nah that is just bs they use to make your wages seem better than what they are , they pad it up , what puts food on the table is salary , additional benefits its just that additional.

PTO is something all companies provide, same with 401k , same with medical, pension you may had a point however they dont provide that anymore.

nah the pay is subpar, bottom line is what pays rent, what pays bills , what puts food on the table is salary not the benefits they use to fluff up salary and its just misleading because they know they pay less than the market.

@3xax- I see you don’t understand the value of medical, AD&D, life insurance, PTO, 401K match. Compensation is more than direct pay. No wonder you are going no where in life.

you are delusional , claims doesnt even pay 40k to start off let alone 50k, its in the 30s

if they paid 50k many people would have not left for other insurance companies.

if you kiss enough as$ you may get promoted to CS and get to 50k but as understaffed as they are they will never let you get promoted.

If all the fast food workers is the U.S. learned they could make 50 grand for answering the phone and filling out a template there would be no one left to make your cheeseburgers.

There is no reason to stay. You'll get to a point either your life will be miserable or they will pull the carpet out from under you. No pension, no cost of living, no medical at retirement, no nothing anymore. Not worth it! They'll lie to you to polish the T U R D they created.

Wrong place for this conversation. The people on here don’t work, and they certainly aren’t quiet. They’ll post for pages and pages on topics they know nothing about.

I started putting forth less effort two years ago. It's actually improved my metrics and resulted in higher ratings/raises. So I'd say it's going much better than I planned. Thanks for asking.

They wanted metrics not me. I only do what I'm paid for, and luckily they count it all for me, so i know exactly when to slow down ect. Someone at SF once said "this isnt a chairty" and i agree.

Really good actually. Turns out doing well at your job but not trying to overperform really helps to deal with the constant changes at SF because I'm far less stressed.

In my old role, we were all trying to perform at higher levels to get the job reclassed higher. It was denied. So now everyone decided no more extra work, with their FLL's blessing.

Watching higher job levels scramble to actually do their own jobs instead of shoving it downwards has been a delight.

Oh look, another analyst that doesn’t answer a phone or help a customer is here. We are so happy you enjoy your role of being a PowerPoint ranger!
