Ford's turnaround attempt coming way too late, warns Deutsche Bank auto analyst. Downgraded to SELL

Very sad news. When will the Ford Board of Directors terminate Jim Farley for failure to perform. Below expectations.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) shares fell over 10% after a disappointing earnings result on Thursday evening.

Following the significant bottom-line miss driven by operational issues, Deutsche Bank shifted to a bearish stance on the company.

“We are downgrading our Ford rating to Sell, following its large 4Q22 miss and new aggressive 2023 guidance, which in our view showcase considerable operational shortfalls and suggest meaningful downside risk to earnings trajectory,” equity analyst Emmanuel Rosner told clients. “Management blamed supply chain conditions but also recognized its suboptimal material economics and poor operational execution. We also worry about its limited visibility into its supply base.”

Hey Joe Henricks, we made a mistake canning you, please come back.
BILL, FIRE FARLEY, AND MAKE A DIRECT STATEMENT TO THE PUBLIC THAT YOU ARE BRINGING BACK AFFORDABLE ICE VEHICLES. HIRE A QUALITY MANAGER THAT IS AN ENGINEER WITH A PROVEN TRACK RECORD AND LET HIM. HIM. HIM CHANGE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. ITS THAT SIMPLE. SORRY BUT YOUR DREAM TO BE GREEN HAS COST YOU AND ALLL THAT WORK FOR YOU. HAVE SOME SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY MAN.

Not that I completely disagree with Emmanuel Rosner's analysis, but he doesn't have the best track record for stock recommendations.

Criticism is best when it is true.

You can't cook the books or lie to Wall Street.

That said, Edsel can own Marketing Associates (One magnify now) and Ford can hire them as purchase service or agency. Then take a cut of their paychecks. All legal of course.

The special 65 cent dividend paid out, to 71 million B shared owned by extended Ford family equals a nice 46 million. The company would rather pay out dividends than possibly invest in better quality auto parts made by the same OEMs used by other companies.

That said mgmt chaos and consistently firinh number two and three CEOs in line ruins succession planning and consistency. Combine with layoffs and changing roles and it is a business case study. The company is plagued by poor leadership over a long history. Firing Farley will just continue the problem of leadership instability. Now the larger issue at hand, should the company continue to sell poor quality fast just to keep money thru the door or slow down to fix problem. Pay now or pay later is the larger problem. And with raising rates cars and trucks are less affordable and profits are Ford credit are being squeezed. Industry wide failed auto loans are on the rise.

Once Wall Street has it out for a CEO, it’s usually the beginning of the end. Bill will be forced to dump Farley by the end of the year most likely. 4 CEOs in fewer than 10 years is an embarrassment.

The best evidence against Ford is that GM & Stellantis had the same supply chain challenges, but handled them much better. It’s painfully obvious the difference is in executive management.

Another hit piece by msn against Ford? Was one of our leaders critical of msn recently?

Ignore this baloney and the trolls pushing this misinformation here.

@cbj that was the reason for the special dividend. As long as their dividend payments roll in to support their extravagant lifestyles, the Ford family really could not care less about the business.

In 2022
Ford workers Produced and Sold 11 cars per employee
GM 14.5 cars per employee
Tesla 25 cars per employee

We have a problem of too many employees, not in plants, but in the LL and executive ranks. We need to eliminate 50% of them.

Circling the drain. Focusing on the wrong things and not our core competence is destroying the company. Get rid of the Ford Next unicorn dreams and build affordable, reliable vehicles that people want to buy.

But the Ford Next Director leaves his all expenses paid visit to Palo Alto headed to his beach vacation paid for with airline and hotel points paid for by Ford! He could not care less about our problems, because his million dollar paycheck is still coming in!

Why is it that everyone, but the Ford family, sees the dump fire this company has become?
