It's terrible how much Cisco doesn't value talent. At one time, there were many great people here. But if you ask those who have left, most will tell you that they feel like they just wasted their talent here. Does Cisco really not have a need for the most talented and capable people here?

The problem for the ELT, 70% of revenue comes from switches and routers, is that it’s difficult to innovate a box that moves packets, following industry standards. If as an engineer you had a revolutionary concept that could do things in an entirely different way, that totally disrupted the current business model of networking, would Cisco be the place to pursue that idea? That's like a Foot Locker employee saying they can't pay top talent to sell sneakers. TAC doesn't need top talent, we are in a managed decline. It's not 2006 anymore.
Switch to a growth industry.
Cisco is bleeding and cannot afford to pay top talent. They are running me out of TAC over $25k/year because as a previous poster mentioned—I ask too many questions. I am
Now checked out and feverishly applying to other jobs. Unlucky for me, all the tech companies are trying to buck back against the workers and reclaim their pre pandemic power, but I can still get the bump I’m looking for by jumping and run the same playbook at the next spot.
You don't need talented people to sell switches & routers. We are the Bed, Bath, and Beyond of Silicon Valley.
