Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

You are more valuable then you think

As a former SM that just left in December. I wanted to make sure everyone that is still working for bbb.

You have value. You are some of the hardest working and most versatile retails workers i. The industry.

Dont let anyone hold bbb struggles against you. During interviews speak confidential about your ability to move metrics. Speak to strong customer service skills while still getting tasks conlmpleted. Other companies have more specialized roles. A bbb person can go from pulling bopis/sfs, then replenshiment, then price changes, ring a register and finally push freight and set guides all before lunch.

You can do sales, logistics, warehouse, cashiers and even cleaning. Be confident and show your interviewer your team strength.

No its not multi tasking or using an automatic system.

Im talking about the ability to be versaitle and juggle multiple things at once. To the person who son works at Di-ks. He is just a part timer that they will give 10 hours to a week whenever they want.

Im talking about imvesting in a persons talent and growing it to do more. The skills people learn in retail make all the "day jobs" a cake walk.

I would hire a bbb person (and i already have gotten at least 5 with more coming) over any other store sinply due to the fact that they can and will do anything that is asked of them.

To be clear, Bed Bath is in the situation it is solely due to corporate incompetence.
Full fu----g stop!
The stores are bathed in the blood, sweat and tears of the truly dedicated workers that have done everything asked of them.

If you haven’t worked in a store you really shouldn’t comment as you haven’t a clue.

It is good to put a positive spin on this but the only talent of significance you are highlighting here is the ability to multitask. Even without this, getting a job in a retail store is not difficult. My son just got hired at Di-ks and his interview consisted of one question, when was he available to work. He is 17!

The positive spin should be to get a job somewhere else and see how a store runs properly with current processes and technology. Where fellow associates don't stand around doing nothing and actually have more than 5 associates working with you. Tasks like bopis, replenishment, price changes, etc. are all automated in stores with current tech. Show you want to work and you are dependable and you will land a job.
