I know a couple flm in data & ai were ra'd. They claim its related to strategic locations. But other employees directors etc not at strategic locations remain. Many of the affected are highly paid technical levels. 9 and above it seems.

Was of leave earlier this week.
Was informed of RA this morning. Heard other colleagues in smaller offices being impacted.

It certainly looks like it was a big NA layoff. I would guess 10-15% or 8-10k worth of headcount. IBM usually does notification over 2-3 days, and then they come back in a week or two to go after the managers impacted. NOTE if the amount of folks impacted was 8-10k you should expect a 1-2 billion dollar charge in 2nd q. IBM may spread that out over 2 quarters (300k for the 3.9 thousand of folks considered surplus from Kyndryl and Watson Health). Then a 2nd q charge for the current RA. Note most RA’s in other companies are accounted for via that quarters earnings. That would mean IBM would take an approx 2 billion charge in 2nd q and declare an approx 0 dollar 2nd q result for earnings.
