Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Indy Car - please explain.

So we spend silly money on sponsorship for Indy car. The teams we sponsor are awful. I dont believe they have ever finished podium since we sponsored them. They are racing at Texas and all 3 cars are laps, yes laps down. What is the fascination with Indy car and what is our ROI. I would love an accurate explanation from any of the execs on this thought process. I have lost job advancement opportunities, lost good, no great colleagues because of this spending. Even the merchandise purchased by the GM dept for Indy was a waste. At a cost of 2.5 million and KT still has her job even though demoted. Why would we spend this money. Another question is the spend even measurable.

On my way out also.

Hy-Vee had NOTHING to do with a National Championship at KU. NOTHING. Kansas Basketball and Bill Self don’t need Hy-Vee. Actually I think Dillons is and has been the main grocer sponsor of the Jayhawks. Didn’t Hy-Vee close a store there in Lawrence?

Devils advocate here: Sponsored Royals when they were awful - ended up winning a World Series...Sponsored Chiefs when they were aweful...two Super Bowls now. KU - Championship...Caitlyn Clark - GOAT status...not saying the same will happy with Indy here, but their track record with sports teams is pretty good so far...Celebrities, not so much 😂

You got my interest in the bed bath and beyond comments. I know the reasoning behind the racing. This is the first I've heard of growth and not shrinkage in forever. I hope you know what you're talking about!

HyVee wants to be to be known by all of the states. They want everyone to shop at their stores. They are getting their name out there by doing sponsorship. By the time HyVee starts building stores in every state. The consumer won’t be asking who is HyVee but they will be asking what took so long to build a HyVee in my city. You have to start looking into the future. I already know HyVee is looking at leasing store space from bed , bath and beyond. They already have good size stores and distribution center. Plus they are nation wide. Could very easily be a national grocery store chain in 2 years if they play their cards right.

Now...now..now. ..settle down Randy has said repeatedly that all this sports bulls**t does not cost the company a dime, and has even uttered they get paid to do these sports programs. So you should all be getting huge bonuses soon!
