Thread regarding Neiman Marcus Group layoffs

When (soon, we hope!) GVR leaves - he will get the same reaction like Jeff has at Macys:

Finally! Goodbye to bad rubbish. This man did not have a clue on how to run this company. He Rode the successes his predecessors laid before him and when that momentum ran out and this company needed proper leadership, he utterly failed to provide it. He brought nothing to the table and instead of fostering those who brought in new ideas and solutions to it's problems, he saw them as a threat to his authority and expelled them and their ideas.
Instead cutting into the very bones which made this institution what it was, which where it's employees and valued customers. By having loyal employees take the brunt of cuts during company down turns, therefore affecting the customer experience.
Here's hoping the new CEO can bring proper responsible Leadership and new insight

It’s time for him to move on. I’m tired of scripted events, media placements that are full of half truths and a leader who wants nothing to do with us.

So true. Everything is spun. We can’t manage our finances and headcount so we’re having a layoff is changed to :
Neiman Marcus Group today announces strategic changes to its operating model to Revolutionize Luxury Experiences.
Just tell us the truth. CEO has overstayed his welcome.

Since it’s been asked…I would welcome a change at the CEO level. Not because of the well documented money grabs or everything else that’s been exposed. Mainly because I want someone who puts trust and transparency before everything else. He and his PR team are great puppet masters - WWD, Dallas morning News, BOF - we pay for some of the articles to be written! Control the message. But we’ve reached the point of not knowing what or who to believe. There’s so much spinning and branding of the company, the CEO, by the CEO and his team, that it’s hard to tell what is actually happening. I want someone who wins when we all win and shares the pain when we face challenges. That’s not our CEO today. A change would be welcomed.
