No one here care about your VZW a-s.
Replying to Post ID: @2ike+1lTKZdk7 about Verizon and T-mob
OK... I work for VZW and I worked at t-mob for 7 years. All I can say is the differences are like night and day. I still carry a T-mob phone so I can compare networks and it's not even close. For the most part I never see more than 80MB down on T-Mob. In fact I just tested and her is what I got... T-Mob 12.7MB down Verizon 348.2 down. In fact I have actually been pushed down to "Edge" on T-Mob as it happened yesterday! Why is T-Mob still operating a GSM network? Here at VZW we are 4G and 5G only! Our site build quality is a light year beyond T-Mob as well. And I can go on and on and on. Best move I eve made was to join Team V... yeah they work me hard but it's good, honest and productive work with QUALITY being step one...! I still have friends over at T-Mob and they keep asking me when we are hiring. 1 of them I was able to bring over because that person is a good worker and is up to VZW standards. The rest I just tell... "just apply when the job comes open" and I leave it at that.
The biggest thing about the Sprint people that have come over is that they love having meetings with 40 and 50 people on the phone and then 2 people speak. Any of the processes from legacy Sprint that T-Mobile has adopted are so onerous and so stupid. And then the other thing is that you're seeing Sprint managers protect Sprint people and not give a damn about legacy T-Mobile.
Update 3 years after the merger: legacy tmo still training legacy sprint :)
Most of the Sprint principal engineers we got from the merger aren't better than most TMobile's senior engineers. Most of them aren't very smart and they're all slow to react, but they love having meetings to discuss nothing. I hope they're not getting paid much because most of them aren't worth s**t.
You’re all mediocrities. Every last one of you.
Some of them legacy sprint are so freaking slow its frustrating
I don't work at TMO, but a few months ago, I was at a group event, and a Verizon employee who has been on their network development side for many years was there. We were all discussing current events and DISH's continued irrelevance in the market, but mostly roadblocks and problems we all face building and operating networks.
Someone said something to this Verizon employee about solving a problem. It was along this lines of, "Well, T-Mobile always cuts corners so just do it like T-Mobile does."
The reaction of the Verizon employee was instructive, and points to why they have the best overall network.
Imagine someone speaking with total disdain in their tone of voice. "Do not EVER compare us to T-Mobile! We don't take shortcuts like they do."
TMO has a poor reputation amongst those most in the know. Legacy Sprint people, you've experienced this firsthand by now, of course, judging by the comments on this site.
Not much to be proud of, Team Magenta. Enjoy the 5g superiority while it lasts. It's not worth much, anyway, since 5g is nothing more than faster networks. Great improvements for speeds but a dud in terms of what it was supposed to be.
If a random, mid-level Verizon employee is that committed to Verizon's network, they are going to catch you, surpass you, and dominate you, yet again. Maybe you can bribe the DOJ yet again to buy DISH in a couple of years but you are on borrowed time as an industry leader.
Is it projection or transference when instead of accepting reality, someone else is blamed? Stop embarrassing yourself. TMobile acquired Sprint, can't deploy a one man band and it's Sprint's fault? Ok...you go sit over there.
My personal favorite are all the time wasting Slack channels. Slack, the company's slot machine - just play all day. Oh...and Office Hours. Good gravy. Come to Office Hours, so we can assist you with the latest shiny object that has been rolled out. You won't get any help in Office Hours, but come anyway. Thanks for playing.
Yep Sprint had issues, obviously. But, they didn't have THESE TYPE OF ISSUES. I don't ever remember a data breach. Or 5. This is a text book definition of the dog caught the car. What is the statute of limitations on whining?
Legacy Tmo, keep working hard so legacy sprint can get lots and lots of credit for your work :)
Some legacy folks like to take credit for legacy Tmo's work, since legacy tmo has the smarts and knows the network.
Sad but true!
Just wait until they peek under the hood at Mint Mobile. It will blow magenta confetti all over your desk. Hmm.
MagentaBuilt is based on SprintVision, which blows elemenT away. Massive improvement and brought TMO into the 21st Century.
elemenT sucked more than Stormy.
Nice to see being an adult in the TMO world resorts to name calling… Maybe in Bellevue peeps get high at work but not in legacy sprint world. Lay off the weed!

You're high. Sprint outsourced everything to Ericsson. Basically Sprint folks are no more than glorified vendor managers who don't know how anything works.
Legacy sprint was cut to bare bones for so long we were used to doing multiple jobs and not just one little thing. Once moved to TMO I was shocked to see how many people do one job and just one little part of it. Sprint was a well oiled machine but had sh---y CEOs making terrible decisions for the company. Perhaps the two companies should work together instead of against as a they and we mindset. Sometimes things work better if you don’t fight about everything and make logical decisions for the well being of the company.
Most legacy T-Mobile employees are little babies that are used to only being responsible for 1 thing. They all seem to need their little safe spaces.
Sprint is/was the most siloed company I've ever seen. The legacy Sprint folks seem to sit around and do nothing. But, Sievert is doing all he can to adopt every failed Sprint policy.
If TMO is so fantastic why aren’t the processes working. Legacy sprint processes have been ruled out and we have adopted TMO practices. So if it’s so bad perhaps you need to update your processes and stop being so siloed in your work and look behind your magenta noses! I’ve never seen so much whining and crying since I was in grade school.
Sprint has been the Island of Misfit Toys for at least the last decade… trying to splice that into TMO with a void of true leadership creates the inevitable results of toxic culture.
ATT is also a better option now
Can’t wait to port all my lines out to Verizon when I quit. Not supporting this Yellow swamp when I escape.
Couldn’t agree more. Too many meeting and process reviews. T-Mobile will officially be dead when Neville leaves and that dipsh1t Ulf takes over. “Super good” FU Ulf. Pace month my finger in your a-s.
