How do some blokes get to work at home in their slippers while the rest must slog into the office and Star at empty space? I interact only with chaps outside my country, there is no local collaboration whatsoever. I get different answers from each leader I pose this query to.

If they still force you to come to the office from time to time be glad, start worrying if they tell you that you don't need to come to the office anymore
You can wear slippers at the office as well mate. Stiff upper lip!

They don't trust the vast majority of employees not to slack off, and honestly, who could blame them.
