What's the difference between "Software Engineering Technical Leader" and "Engineering Technical Leader" in the org chart? I thought it was the difference between Tech Lead 1 and 2, but that isn't the case based on what I know about folks who hold those titles. Is there a significance to that extra "Software"?

In the olden days the titles as shown in the company directory were all over the map, and they also didn't show the numbers. Unless the company has put in the effort to provide consistency in the titles it would remain the same.
In the big scheme of things titles mean nothing. Cisco has Technical Leaders and Principal Engineers who couldn't pass the first quiz in a freshman Introduction to Computational Theory course and when they're ultimately booted, unless they're awesome BSers, they're going to be posting here about how evil Cisco is because they've been unemployed for over a year while remaining unaware of why they're not employable (hint from an employed old person: it's not because you're old.)
Make sure you are both using the majority of the skills you bring to the table as well as growing new skills so the progress of your career remains your choice, even if you aren't getting top dollar at a particular step along the way. Be sure to make wise job jumps as well because it's almost always going to be better for your career options, money and while you still care, title.
