I don't think that an employee should think that his job is guaranteed, but still, there is too much uncertainty at NCR, isn't there?
I haven't been able to relax and do my work here for a long time because I'm constantly thinking if and when I'll be laid off.

Packages are based on time, as a guideline I was told union get 2 weeks for every year, up to 52 weeks max, if you feel yours sucks, seek legal advice
Age is kinda a factor but not like it used to be. Severance packages were like 6 months decades ago depending on time. Now it like 8 week if that and depends on time.
Health now is a bigger factor based on your post.
Congratulations. You're in the club and get the T shirt. I've been with this company 20 years and haven't relaxed once. Get out before you're trapped.
I was let go after decades of loyal work, 4 min teams call and my days employed by NCR were over. If your young get out now, if you’re close to retirement, let them lay you off, you will get a package and can collect unemployment…….. basically you maybe able to retire early if your finances are in order
Send your resume out.
If you feel this way make sure you plan and design your life. Do not wait for the company to give you anything. Wasting you energy on something you cannot influence is not good. Good luck
