most economic not most ethic
if you can buy cheap from anywhere, buy
sell to anyone, no question asked
Also what ever happened to building 6? In 20/20 hindsight, the current ethical problems with this company occur in countries that already have problems with s-xism and management abuse. That and execs who swap out SSDs with cheaper models.

Please read page 10 on investor report and see how many smelter in conflict countries are used. How can it claim to have clean hands? The kids mining will not have clean hands
A company that uses a metallic chemical element like Co in the manufacture of its products should tread lightly with ethical claims. The responsibility for ensuring ethical practices in the supply chain lies with the company that uses Co in its products, and simply passing the responsibility on to the supplier does not absolve the company of its responsibility to ensure that their supply chains are transparent, accountable, and ethical.

most ethical = paid most for the award
How much does wd pay for this?
The notion of the "most ethical company" is deceptive as it is essentially a paid subscription for an award. It is paradoxical to claim to be ethical while paying for such recognition instead of truly earning it. Oh, the irony is off the charts with this one.
it does not know where it buys Cobolt. 90% Cobalt is mined in Congo. Children and Slaves mine Cobalt. WD does not track its supply chain.
