Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Corporate greed..plain and simple

How can these big wigs sit in their glass palace and let this happen? They have to know what's going on at store level don't they?

It is really quite simple. Most employees do not really know how the financials work. The ONLY thing that Randy/Jeremy/ who ever is in charge is concerned about...I repeat...the only thing...is...providing a hefty return for the real stock holders (retired or otherwise) of the company. It used to be 16% +annually. If that is not happening anymore...Brace yourself, which appears to be happening now.

Let what happen? I left almost 3 years ago after 17 years but still have many friends still drinking the kool-aid.

I know from over 30 years of experience, you are 100% right. You as employees are just that number you use to punch in.NEVER NEVER FORGET THAT.I would advise anyone with youth on their side not to make a career with this company. There are many jobs out there that will appreciate you more than this company.

With top-down run companies, it's corporate that you are working for, not the other way around. They have zero interest in you.
They know your store's numbers and whether or not you are profitable. That's it. The human element, the connections piece, the overall morale of the store? Lost in translation. Get out of that!!
