Layoffs have started. The final number will be announced in a couple of months. If you are not billable you are gone. All rebadged employees from other companies will be let go.

Regret to say the final number will be around 30,000 not 19000. Stay safe and leave as quickly as possible. They have screwing some of client projects.

How are these different from other job cuts that Accenture has implemented in the past?

Things are looking bad folks!
The nature of these job cuts are what is different. Clients who can't afford consultants means clients not doing well which means things are not as rosy as we were led to believe.
