I am disappointed with the lack of information we are getting. Is it too much to expect VMware to be more transparent about the acquisition?

There's nothing they can say except to regurgitate what's already in the headlines.
Often headlines are misleading or plain wrong. We have seen this multiple times.
Maybe correct those mistakes as they come up so not as to have employees consume misinformation? Slack is fine for this, no need to send email - what is this 1993?
I’m not a lawyer, but it seems absurd that the CEO of a company being acquired is legally required to shut his mouth about anything that is going on about the deal that is in the public domain.
It is more likely that Magoo doesn’t want to jeopardize his $50 million payday so just puts his head in the sand.
Oh Magoo, there you go again!
You'll get total transparency and honesty from Broadcom when details can be discussed, it's one thing they are, however, also brutal. You'll know exactly what is happening when.
Simply acknowledging the information in the public domain would be a start instead of acting like nothing is happening
I'd prefer to not receive email blasts every week from leadership saying "Sigh, yes, here's another week where those headlines you read were correct. But nothing we can do because it's all on BC's side. Regardless, we'll be back next week with this exact same messaging again."
Legally they can’t.

Your expectations unreasonable. Can’t legally tell you more
What would you like them to say?

Its business as usual, and that is all that we need to know, until it is not, then they will tell us.

Simply yes.
