Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Ex colleagues post layoffs

When they came to know about my axing, they wanted my phone number ASAP from me, but alas, they never called me to checkin on me.

I know they don't have to, but why ask for the phone number when there was never an intention to call.

GK won't be proud of them ( lol )

what do you say to a work college that gut cut, while you still work there.

Its awkward for everyone. I can imagine the convo

Me: hey hows it going, still working, collecting a paycheck, keeping my head down as I would hate to be laid off!

You: it sucks being out of a job, I hate that place, but would still love to be working there becuase I now cant afford to feed my family.

Me: wish I could help but there is nothing I can do.

You: resenting me for not finding you a job.

many of us dont know what to say. So we stay low and out of sight and hoping things turn out for you and all the reset.

We are sorry! It was not our doing that you are out of work, We are also upset with our leadership failing us, while they stay in power.

They are all getting their executive separation packages that is why they are hanging around. Those left are just biding their time while looking for 'Other' opportunities.

James W was told back in July he was out as CMO as soon as they found a new one and they began a search. They never got a suitable candidate externally..... NetApp has a lousy reputation in the bay area after Jean English and Cindy Warner had a cat fight in a leadership meeting and GK was ineffective at controlling them. They both went on to declining careers.... James stayed around until Jan to help NetApp out and then told them he was out to get surgery.... They promoted from within as they had no choice...

@fgz+1lLwUk7b you are partially correct. James W. did have surgery, but he never announced he was leaving the company.

@OP+1lLwUk7b I'm sure they want to "plan to do lunch and catch-up".

your data is incorrect. James Whitemore became EVP / CMO July 2019.

He he announced he was leaving NetApp many months prior to his stated departure date of Feb 1st. he had a surgery recently he is recovering from and he aligned his dates accordingly.

Why did James W. leave NetApp, he was the CMO as of January 2023?

Cause they are 2 faced.
