Maybe it's just me and the drop off in motivation in general, but I don't think I've ever worked in a more toxic company. It seems like nobody likes their job anymore, everyone is grumpy and the atmosphere is very unhealthy. Is your perception different?

I don't miss that place one bit.
Well… not for nothing, at least we should all be happy to have a job. We just don’t know how good we have it
Good Vibes in Schenectady lots of stable work for years to come. Verona will not shut down 273 they are going to grow and expand in Schenectady. The history of where it all started they are also going to make a museum attraction at the front gate.
Norm for GE to ramp up manufacturing prior to contract expiration year. But, this will be different given Verona. Keep your contract books handy.
Toxic, lack of leadership, little to no communication from management, no plan, no vision, and barely any people left to do anything. I think that there is a hope that the tax credits are magically going to make everything better. Unfortunately, making things better at GE would mean getting better leaders. The tax credits are probably just going to spread the product issues created due to lack of staffing.
Yet everyone just about hates their jobs here in Schenectady but A- they don’t leave because they have no marketable skills for other companies to use. B- Ge feeds their Egos and for once in their lives. Also they feel like they are on top of the world by being brainwashed on both sides of the fence. C- Ge is just limping along here in Schenectady this is out dated technology we produce here.
Soon it will be an unmanned campus once Verona comes in and cleans house. This campus will be left a toxic waste dump in Schenectady and turned into a city dump. Just wait for the next 1 year contract. The company will tell the us to take it or we shut down right now. They are stock piling service orders years in advance for the transition. That is why we have so much work. They doubled up and projected the service contracts for the next cycles of service bars. Don’t believe what they are saying they are just keeping you motivated to keep building bars and working.
I think there are plenty of people that like there job, what they don’t like is having incompetent “leadership” trying to tell them how to do things they are totally clueless about. Also, when the s§]t goes down, they don’t have your back! It’s unfortunate but it seems like the beginning of the end is here…
