that sucks,, no surprise, fook ethics , the local management do this and it stinks
I am a salaried worker also in the UK and with seniority on your stated circumstances. I have seen quite a few production workers leave without the coveted redundancy package but also, both production and salaried employees from the same site leave with their redundancy payments, even before their legal minimum age and with a redundancy package. How does this comply with the law? The law, as the current 3M management sees it is, if your face fits, you're quids in. Individuals have even been asked to delay their chosen retirement date with the promise of the coveted redundancy package. The company has sunk below the pits ethically.
