Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Company is going backwards

I cannot believe what I have been hearing from former co-workers. I thought the migration from CATIA to NX was to be one of the early goals of the Digital Thread Initiative, but it appears now that the migration to NX is on hold, the CATIA contract is renewed for three years and PD is reverting back to some level of C3PNG.

If you want to improve the the communication of design and requirements to manufacturing and suppliers you need to change how you transact your business. Staying with the old suite of tools with all of it's Band-Aids does not create a Digital Thread.

I think these business decisions by upper management are destroying the company.
How are you going to run these systems with fewer people? There is also word that some directors cannot make decisions on key contracts, license counts and are once again making unreasonable demands on suppliers.

Would Ford be interested in Structural Analyst to fill open positions who work in Aerospace industry?

F typically uses Fusion 360 or ALGOR for all structural CAE analysis. NV analysis is done though AERODYNE dynamics. I'm not aware of any directional changes in the future but who ever knows?

(PDGS) Proven Design Graphics System. IDEAS sucked. V5 did the job. Someone is getting rich regardless of the right choice. See who bought a new very large house to determine the people responsible. Repeat.

NX is the same quality as Ford NeXt - CATIA is king, all hail the King..... (bow now to the king)

Why would NX be better to switch to than remaining with CATIA at Ford? Curious minds would like to know.

Ford never hits a deadline. It's a leadership problem.
